The Junior Underwriter works under the direct supervision of the Director of Underwriting and provides technical support and service to the underwriter while maintaining daily interaction with the Account Management team.
Responsibilities:
Reviewing carrier renewals and related carrier interaction
Assists the Director of Underwriting by gathering account and historical data and preparing and sending out Request for Proposals
Reviewing proposals received for accuracy
Maintain knowledge of current insurance market trends, conditions, competitive intelligence, and product and service innovations
Ability to interact collaboratively and collegially with colleagues and clients in a professional manner
Requirements:
1-2 years of previous P&C underwriting experience
Property & Casualty Insurance License, preferred
High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Well versed in insurance coverages, policies and guidelines
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient to knowledge of Microsoft Office
