- Managing a caseload of approximately 200 Alumni providing advising services focused on college persistence, college completion, and career readiness.
- Helping students transition to college via 11th and 12th grade college prep courses, one-on-one advising, and family meetings.
- Building relationships with campus support offices including financial aid, student support services, counseling, and career services on college campuses where our alumni enroll and helping students identify and use necessary support offices.
- Teaching students who are not making satisfactory academic progress how to seek support and improve their academic standing through seminars or one-on-one tutoring sessions.
- Assisting students and families to understand financial aid packages through one-on-one meetings, workshops, and/or info sessions
- Organizing programming, shadowing opportunities, and tours to instill in students the value of higher education
- Meetings with students and parents during the college application process to identify resources that assist students and families in making “best match” decisions
- Visiting Alumni on their campuses, work, or at FAC to provide the support necessary to persist and stay connected to the FA mission and values
- Visiting campuses, college fairs, and events to create connections with colleges, universities, and trade schools so that we not only create relationships that open the door of opportunity and access for scholars but also have points of contact when Alumni are in need of support.
- Creating and documenting a post-secondary/college matriculation plan for students who do not matriculate to college
- Tracking alumni progress and data (contact information, grades, financial aid, scholarships, etc.) using Clearinghouse and Naviance and identify trends among college-aged alumni to improve practices on Foundation campuses
- Teaching classes in the fall to seniors and spring to juniors in high school on the transition to college and/or career specifically: character, writing, college experience, identity development, career planning, college readiness, and financial literacy
- Up to 50% travel is required, including overnight
Accountable: What you are accountable for does not change, You are the decider on pivots within the system to meet the following goals.
- Providing alumni with consistent information on college scholarships and organizations focused on college persistence and completion to minimize debt.
- Aiding students in planning for transition to work or graduate school at the completion of college.
- Providing opportunities for alumni to mentor or network with high school students to encourage increased college-going.
- Researching/assisting alumni with placement in summer opportunities, programs, and internships
- Identify and promote career opportunities for Alumni
- Conduct transition planning meetings for students entering high school that have an individualized education plan
- Ensure that athletes have a plan to complete the necessary requirements for NCAA eligibility
- Providing FAC with feedback regarding academic rigor, school culture, and counseling services
- Present persistence data to Chiefs and Board members
- Conduct at least 2 Alumni events per year
- Ensure that the College and Career Coordinator obtains updated information for all Alumni
- Write and send letters of recommendation to educational institutions on behalf of students
- Revisit and make revisions to a comprehensive College Prep 11 and 12 curriculum

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
NJ Teaching Certification is a plus

$68,500-$98,500
