Who We Are Looking For
ForwardXP is looking for a Senior Multiplayer Gameplay Engineer to assist in building robust, scalable network solutions for our co-development projects. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop and maintain the network infrastructure that keeps our multiplayer games running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with gameplay engineers and designers to integrate multiplayer features seamlessly into the game
- Implement low-latency, high-performance networking solutions optimized for cross-platform play in Unreal and/or Unity
- Ensure multiplayer systems are secure, reliable, maintainable, and performant
- Troubleshoot and debug complex multiplayer issues, from latency to synchronization errors
What We Like To See
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Solid experience with network protocols such as TCP, UDP, or WebSockets
- Extensive experience with Unreal Engine (e.g., Replications, Online Subsystem) and/or Unity (e.g., Photon Fusion, Netcode for GameObjects)
- Proven track record of debugging complex multiplayer systems and optimizing
- Strong ability to manage technical trade-offs and guide decision-making in a collaborative environment
BONUS Points
- Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting multiplayer servers
- Knowledge of cheat detection and prevention techniques
- Proven experience developing and implementing cross-platform multiplayer features
- Understanding of platform-specific multiplayer frameworks (e.g., PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steamworks)
