Forward Networks is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help us scale out our product core, by selecting the right components, putting them together in the right architecture, and then implementing it as part of a team. In this position, you will sharpen your skills in a range of modern technologies - all while building software that keeps the networks of the largest Fortune 500 companies running correctly and efficiently.
Responsibilities: ● Improve Forward’s backend software including product scaling and usability ● Work closely with peers who are experts in networking, distributed systems, big data and search
Requirements: ● BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge ● Experience programming in Object Oriented languages: Java, Scala, C++, C#, etc. ● Experience with concurrency and multithreading ● Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, KVM, etc. ● Familiarity with databases and file systems ● At least 3 years of industry (work) experience
Nice to haves: ● Experience with distributed systems ● Experience with cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure and GCP
