The VP, Production will take a leading role in shaping the existing events for select Fortune Live franchises in addition to helping launch new global franchises.

This role will involve:

  • Driving and overseeing event schedule and coordinating all production and logistics elements tied to individual events and franchises as a whole
  • Producing one large-scale summit per franchise per year (approximately 3 days for ~250-400 members)
  • Producing two local events per franchise per year to engage the membership community: These events may include but are not limited to membership dinners. (Approximately 50-150 members)
  • Build ideas to grow Fortune’s live media business as a whole

Responsibilities:

  • Build the experiential elements for each event, in partnership with editorial and sales teams
    • Collaborate with Programming team on agenda for engaging and newsworthy events
    • Collaborate with Sales to ensure sponsored elements are reflected onsite
  • Manage ~2 FTE’s, network of freelancers, and external production companies
  • Oversee RFP process for production company/agency bids
  • Negotiate contracts and troubleshoot operational issues; act as liaison with vendors for Event
  • Day-to-day planning and oversight of all event logistical elements
  • Oversee coordination of travel and room blocks at hotels around Events
  • Develop and implement event quality standards
  • Be onsite for all events (set-up and execution)
  • Manage production budget (development, tracking and reconciliation)
  • Collaborate with Finance to handle all production-related invoices, including staffing costs for ICs and freelancers
  • Schedule pre-con and post-mortem meetings before and after each event to ensure learnings are documented and can be acted upon for future events
  • Perform additional Services requested by Company in connection with the Event, as may be required by the Company

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years producing events, ideally in media / journalism
  • Budget management experience ($2M)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects at one time
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Collaborative leader with ability to work across teams
  • Detail-oriented individual with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with productivity (e.g. Microsoft Office, Slack) & event management software: project management (e.g. Asana), event + customer engagement platforms (e.g. Ungerboeck, Iterable, Momentus), email programs (e.g. Mail merge)

Compensation Range: 

Base salary range: $180,000 to $225,000 plus 10-20% bonus
