MARKETING MANAGER, SALES MARKETING 

 

Position Overview 

We seek a highly motivated, detail-driven, and results-oriented Marketing Manager to join Fortune’s UK/European Sales & Marketing team. This role will primarily support Fortune Sales in supporting our advertising and partnership team drive revenue across our global media platforms, including digital, conferences, video, podcast, print, social and more. 

 

In this position, you will lead the pre-sales process of ad-based marketing partnerships from ideation to RFP completion and proposal submission. You will work closely with team members from across the company, including sales, editorial, account management, activation, product, and custom in London and New York. You will manage and lead brainstorms, edit ideation, kickoff meetings, follow-up brainstorm recaps, custom decks, and sales materials, and help develop compelling programs and support ad hoc programs designed to achieve revenue goals. Ultimately, a successful Marketing Manager will efficiently manage the pre-sales process by delivering partnership proposals that exceed expectations and lead to sold partnerships. 

 

  • Proactively work to increase client success and renew/grow revenue with existing and new business
  •  Communicate and coordinate with clients/advertisers post-sale to ensure on-time asset delivery and campaign launch, manage performance and delivery expectations, build rapport, and provide Sales Lead, Commercial Director, and Managing director wrap up reports on major campaigns or issues.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

Team members play an integral role in driving ad sales revenue and are responsible for conceiving and communicating creative marketing solutions that leverage the full portfolio of the company’s multiplatform assets.   

 

The aim is to build platforms and franchises, not just materials. Messages and communications, not simply decks and sell sheets. Team members are expected to be engaged and be partners and strategists. They should treat their roles and responsibilities like they are a small business and each team member is in charge of their business.    

 

  • Equip the delivery team with the right brand story and messaging to use with prospective and existing clients by creating engaging custom decks and sales materials across different advertising categories and media platforms. Adapt NY materials for us in the UK/Europe 
  • Respond to RFPs and produce general and conference sales materials, including custom edit programs/franchises, proposal decks, and sales materials, across different advertising categories and media platforms.  
  • Support sales team with competitor analysis, value proposition development and brand positioning in UK/European market  
  • Expertise in running and analyzing data to tell the best story, including Permutive, Ipsos, Parse.ly, Piano, Tableau, etc. 
  • Understanding and crafting research stories 
  • Post-sales support: producing recap decks, case studies, and post-event learnings for client and team 
  • Additional responsibilities: 
  • Keeping pipelines and trackers current,  
  • Roll out of new ad products and media solutions,  
  • Ensuring event alignments and partnerships, media kit updates, and corporate document updates. 
  • Support our ongoing industry participation in top conferences and media industry events. Identify and place appropriate speaking engagements to ensure Fortune stays at the forefront of industry discussions. 
  • Ensure messaging is consistent across all UK/European comms and client touchpoints , including our own and client events, social, trade group participation

Professional/Personal Qualifications 

Relevant Work Experience: 3-5+ years of marketing experience in a media organization or agency. Preferably with knowledge of different media platforms and across ad categories. 

Skills. Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. 

Collaborative Attitude: You have a flexible, open approach to work. You thrive on building clear efficiencies in unstructured environments. 

Team Player: A self-starter who is also extremely innovative, professional and resourceful. You have exceptional interpersonal skills and people trust you implicitly. 

Thorough: You have strong management and project management skills from ideation to completion, with the ability to think both creatively and strategically along the way. You are highly organized and thoughtful in the way you approach your work. 

Strong Communicator: You are known internally and externally for quick responses, your excellent sales materials and pitch decks, concise emails, and the ability to solve problems quickly and clearly. 

 

This position is based in London and reports to the Commercial Director. Our team is in the office Monday to Thursday.
