The Project Manager is a consultative position that interacts directly with Fortra's customers to lead them and a team of Fortra Consultants through the entire deployment lifecycle.  You will need to have a strong knowledge of Fortra products and services to ensure an understanding of customer business objectives and translate these objectives into project activity, manage customer requirements and carry out the tasks required to deliver the solution. This position requires demonstrable experience in project coordination and the use of project scheduling and reporting tools. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage ~15 deployment projects with varying scope simultaneously and effectively
  • Work with customers to define the project scope and goals and build detailed project plans to achieve them
  • Take full responsibility for the project goals and pro-actively manage the project delivery to ensure on-time deployment to a high quality for both the customer and Fortra
  • Coordinate internal and external teams of engineers and guide them in determining how to achieve the project goals
  • Carry out stakeholder communication on project progress on a regular basis via multiple means including excellent quality reporting
  • Build goodwill with the customer and ensure that they arrive at the desired outcomes with a high standard of customer satisfaction
  • Use the appropriate tools to maintain rigorous project control of project constraints, risks, dependencies, scope, actions and schedule with supporting records
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the Fortra products and services to use to train the customer to get the best out of their service
  • Predict risks before they arise, capture issues in a timely manner and utilize escalation pathways to manage successful outcomes
  • Maintain a utilization target of 85% or greater
  • Some travel may be required (<5%) Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Similar Work Experience
  • Formal Project Management qualification such as PMP / Prince 2 / APM / ITIL Transition
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading multi-phased projects, ideally transitioning customers to service in a matrix environment
  • Minimum of 3 years in customer service/facing industries
  • Proven experience of key project management skills on complex, dynamic, fast-paced projects, adapting on the fly to respond to roadblocks without losing momentum
  • Strong analysis skills, ability to evaluate requirements and modify existing solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build constructive and effective relationships inside and outside of Fortra
  • Dedication to customer service and ability to problem solve and proactively manage project risk and urgency to make timely decisions
  • Ability to motivate and influence customers and 3rd parties to deliver on dependencies to ensure project outcomes
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to independently manage multiple conflicting draws on time, prioritizing the most important tasks
  • Willingness to gain and maintain a strong knowledge of all Fortra products and services
  • Willingness to adapt to the challenge of new of unfamiliar tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Have a bright, inquiring mind and a strong drive to learn and evolve
  • Working knowledge of web applications, information security compliance, cloud environment architecture is advantageous, but not essential
  • Some travel may be required (<5%)
