Fortitude Re is seeking to enter the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) market and seeks a highly experienced and connected professional to build and lead development of our new business acquisition capability.  The role will focus on partnering with a direct writer to execute a proof-of-concept reinsurance transaction over the next year. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a dynamic and growing organization. You will be responsible for developing market opportunities and leading pricing and product solutions for pension risk transfer to achieve profitable growth. The successful candidate will have a passion for working in a fast-paced environment and must demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. What You Will Do:

  • Define market opportunity and lead pipeline development.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a cross-business unit team to achieve successful growth.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to transaction pricing and integration.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of insurance and pension industry trends and dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular market updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients to encourage bilateral deal opportunities.
  • Execute proof-of-concept transaction within 12 months.

What You Will Have:

  • A deep understanding of PRT insurance markets, defined benefit plans, actuarial principles, and the ability to lead transactions.
  • 15+ years of experience in the insurance/pension industry with deep expertise in business origination, PRT contract negotiation, actuarial pricing and product development.
  • A bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Finance or related field.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

$274,000$350,000 USD
