The AVP, IT Data will lead technology initiatives and is responsible for data and application architectures, patterns, and operations across the company. This primary IT role is frequently engaged with our internal IT team to lead and implement a well-governed data solutions to ensure data and application flows are automated and offer straight-through processing using a cloud-first technology stack. This role is based in our Brentwood, TN office on a hybrid basis. 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a small team and collaborate IT peers to work on strategic and tactical initiatives related to data infrastructure, data modeling, analytics/reporting, python development, cloud architecture (within AWS and Azure), and applications development.

  • Utilize an agile development model that leverages onshore and offshore resources.

  • Work closely with IT and business partners to develop capability-based roadmaps.

  • Understand current state process/data flows and propose optimizations for future state process/data flows.

  • Ingest and analyze new/existing data sets and implement automation and straight-through processing.

  • Design and implement data processing (ETL, ELT) and data approval workflows.

  • Engage with data vendors to coordinate secure data transfers.

  • Provide long term technology solutions to financial modeling using data visualizations/dashboards, data science, ML and AI.

  • Evaluate SaaS solutions from a technology lens in partnership with our business teams.

 

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum experience of seven years in programming (Python, Julia and/or R).

  • Experience building cloud-based data solutions in AWS using services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, API Gateway.  Knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) preferred.  AWS certification a plus.

  • Background building event driven microservices and / or service-oriented architectures for enterprise level production workloads.

  • Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, data lake, data warehouse, data lake house and big data concepts and frameworks, and how to write and optimize advanced queries.

  • Robust knowledge data governance and modern data quality techniques.

  • Prior knowledge and experience in the fintech, investment banking or insurance industry.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.

  • Strong verbal and written skills.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

$132,600$165,900 USD
