POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will be reporting to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks for accounts payable, fixed assets, construction in progress and assisting with general ledger functions, consolidated financial statement preparation and other adhoc projects. This person will work closely with departments across the company to ensure accounting information is captured accurately and timely. This position has tremendous opportunities for growth as this exciting new technology is rolled out for revenue and commercial production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements.
- Assisting with portions of the general ledger monthly close.
- Performing the accounts payable function and working with procurement, receiving, and requisitioners as well as vendors and consultants to ensure that all accounts payable invoices and liabilities are properly and accurately recorded and paid on a timely basis.
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets and construction in progress subledgers.
- Timely follow-up on issues and/or discrepancies including suggestions for future improvements in processes, documentation, and internal controls.
- Assisting with preparation for audits.
- Assisting with DOE government grant reporting.
- Completing government surveys.
- Performing ad hoc projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years’ relevant experience.
- Certified Public Accounting (Big 4 experience) considered a plus.
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience with financial reporting/general ledger, procurement/accounts payable, and fixed assets/construction in progress.
- Experience with implementing and streamlining processes and procedures.
- Background with foreign subsidiaries and consolidation accounting desired.
- Experience with internal control processes and policies desired.
- Previous experience with government grant reporting requirements considered a plus.
- Prior experience with revenue and accounts receivable considered a plus.
- Prior manufacturing background considered a plus.
- Public company experience considered a plus.
- Experience with a larger ERP system implementation or conversion considered a plus.
COMPENSATION:
The compensation package for this role includes a competitive base salary commensurate with experience of $95,000 - $115,000 as well as an annual bonus and pre-IPO incentive stock options.
