Form Health is telehealth for adults with obesity, a chronic excess weight disease.

Obesity impacts more than 40% of the US adult population, but only about 1% of patients receive medical treatment for their disease. Form Health makes research-based treatment available to adults through the convenience of telehealth, including long-term care from a physician and dietitian and medication when appropriate.

Founded in Boston in 2019 with a public launch in early 2020, Form Health is a venture-backed startup with an experienced team and product-market fit. We’re building for growth: onboarding more patients, building better tools for our clinicians and partners, and scaling our team while maintaining a high bar for patient success.

Our team works remotely and is distributed across the US, although we do plan to have a Boston-area office later in 2021 or 2022 for those who need it.

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer

About the role: The Director of Practice Operations will be responsible for: 

  • Managing telehealth practice daily operations using critical thinking and problem-solving to optimize for outstanding clinical care, outstanding patient experience, and a very positive work environment for employees.
  • Developing, implementing and overseeing operating procedures that drive clinical and operational efficiency. Launching new initiatives as well as modifying existing operational processes, aimed to balance clinician, patient, and business priorities. Balancing operational consistency and stability with fast-paced decision-making and execution on iterative changes. 
  • Partnering effectively with engineering and product teams and clinical leadership to drive iteration on all aspects of digital tools used in the clinical practice and by our patients. Monitoring our digital health tools to proactively identify user experience problems and work across multi-functional teams to develop and implement solutions. 
  • Leveraging clinical and operational metrics and a data-driven approach to assess team and systems performance and make data-informed decisions for change.
  • Partnering effectively with clinical leadership, engineering and product, and other business teams to ensure clinicians and clinical operations are aligned with overall business priorities.
  • Scaling clinical teams. Hire, train, coach and manage patient care coordinators. Participate in hiring and training of all other clinical team roles.
  • Anticipating operational risks and creating effective risk mitigation plans, including proactive capacity modeling, and driving operational issue resolution with urgency

This candidate will work in Form’s Boston headquarters with some remote work possible. 

Candidates will be successful in this role because they have:

  • At least five years of hands-on experience in management of operations of a scaled, multi-state telemedicine clinical practice, with extra emphasis on prior experience managing clinicians alongside operations.
  • Experience in the delivery of clinical care through telehealth and digital platforms.
  • A Bachelor’s degree. 
  • A passion for helping people improve their health. 
  • Genuine empathy and superlative interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, health care professionals and other team members.
  • A passion for fostering a positive, collaborative, respectful work environment where every individual is valued and supported to bring to work the best version of themselves.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. Ability to function with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and execute on tasks while anticipating challenges.
  • Experience effectively working cross-functionally with internal teams and partners.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to build and manage internal and external relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail. A passion for continuous learning and improvement. 
  • Facility with data queries and developing professional reports or presentations to share findings.
  • High energy and motivation to be part of a startup team. A desire to deeply understand patients’ needs and lead with a vision of the value Form can deliver for them.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, both manager and individual contributors, and a track record of managing teams well through periods of change and uncertainty.
