Forbes is opening applications for our Bernard Osei Video Fellowship, a twelve-month immersive training program for early-career multi-platform video producers with a passion for business journalism, who will rotate through our video department in order to learn targeted skills specific to a Forbes career. We are looking for recent college graduates who embody the Forbes entrepreneurial spirit to innovate and who are passionate about learning.

About the role:
Fellows will rotate through the video department during a series of three, 4-month assignments in order to develop skills related to producing and editing: 1) in-studio interviews, 2) longer-form enterprise editorial videos, and 3) videos for branded content and live-events.
We are looking for recent college graduates who are interested in growing a career in multi-platform business journalism and video content. An ideal candidate will have deep technical experience in video production, which can include internships and video production outside of the news industry. People making a career switch to video production will also be considered, depending on their previous experience, training and education.
Responsibilities:
- From conception to publish– fellows will develop skills related to taking full ownership of editorial video projects as assigned by Sr. Producer, including but not limited to:
- Always-on content,
- Original series,
- Sponsored editorial content,
- Events and Summits.
- Work directly with newsroom Reporters and Editors to source subjects, craft story, message, and final product.
- Research, initial outreach, communication with, and booking of talent/subjects before, during and after shoots.
- Edit assigned video content in Adobe Premiere per specification of Sr. Producer.
- Support Live team in creating video content at and around summits and events.
- Ensure proper media management for team projects.
- Coordinate with Edit Ops and Legal to ensure all necessary fact-check and legal reviews have taken place prior to publication.
- Work with senior members of the video staff to write scripts, select soundbites to craft final story, assign and create graphics.
- Record audio on all filmed video content using provided audio equipment.
- Maintain quality, style and aesthetic standards as directed by EP, Video and Sr. Video Director/Editors.
- Update and place motion graphics packages in Adobe After Effects as required.
- Manage all pre-production, production, post-production, and publishing logistics and deliverables for assigned projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Recent college graduates from either undergraduate or graduate programs. Candidates must have graduated within the past 24 months.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience including internships.
- Demonstrated experience producing, editing and directing video content that has resulted in the creation of high quality videos.
- Ability to edit in Premiere Pro and shoot with current camera technology (A7Sii, C300, C100, FS7, etc.).
- Experience with publishing platforms, current digital and social media technologies and SEO best practices.
- Strong interest in business/entrepreneurship and understanding of basic financial terms/figures.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Creative thinker with an eye for keeping up with latest audio-visual trends.
- A highly collaborative work ethic and the ability to compromise without compromising quality.
- Extremely organized to the point of multiple simultaneous projects being second nature
- Unflappable under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ambitious to constantly evolve with the media zeitgeist.
Based in the greater NYC area.
About The Fellowship Program
- This is a full-time, temporary position.
- The role will be paid hourly and the weekly schedule is expected to be 40 hours per week.
- Fellowships begin in September, and will last for 12 months.
