We work with self-insured companies as their health administrator (TPA), replacing the incumbent insurance carrier. In doing so, we are reinventing what it means to have “health insurance” - from the app members use to find a doctor, to the payments happening in the background.

Our flagship product, “Flume Pay”, allows us to reimburse healthcare providers in under 72 hours - giving us 20-40% discounts on medical services (typical cycle is 4-6 weeks); we then pass these savings on to our customers. Flume Pay is a pioneering method for medical payments and our vision is to make it the ubiquitous standard for the $1T+ spent on healthcare services every year.

The Role

We are seeking a top-performing sales executive to help Flume Health capitalize on the growing market of self-insured employers looking to optimize their health plans.

The Sales Executive is responsible for growing revenue by working directly with benefits consultants/brokers, plus the Sales Director, to meet the needs of mid-to-large size self-funded employers. Candidates should be entrepreneurial with a desire set a high bar for Flume’s early sales team. Candidates should have experience building and managing a sales pipeline of key relationships, quickly and accurately qualifying sales leads, and a proven track record selling professional services.

What you’ll do

  • Execute on a territory plan to develop a sales pipeline and surpass expectations for revenue and new lives enrolled
  • Prospect and close deals with a specific focus on relationship-building 
  • Work with brokers and key channel/vendor partners to understand clients needs and present Flume as the solution of choice
  • Aggressively pursue sales with determination, perseverance, confidence and urgency

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, or a related field; proven industry experience will be acceptable in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 4- experience in a strategic sales role
  • Demonstrated history of top revenue-producing results; should have a track record of routinely hitting and exceeding targets
  • Superior professional selling and account management skills, negotiation and closing via phone and online environment
  • Meticulous detail obsession - this is healthcare and there’s very little room for error
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn our internal CRM (HubSpot) and the ins-and-outs of an unbundled health benefits stack (eg. medical managers, stop-loss carriers, RBP vendors, PBMs, etc.)
  • A willingness to experiment within a start-up environment
  • Relentless execution
  • A burning frustration with the healthcare status quo and desire to fix it
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time in order to make presentations, close deals, attend conferences, etc.
