Now we are hiring for the pivotal role of Chief Editor. We’re looking someone who can lead an enthusiastic senior content team and define the principles of our content strategy that will both delight our users and drive product metrics.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of in-house professionals who are tasked with producing exceptional editorial, video and audio content that will help to educate and empower women across the world. It will be your responsibility to help spark new ideas, introduce innovative formats and maintain a healthy content pipeline.

An exceptional storyteller, you will have the ability to wear an operational hat as well as a creative one, and will find efficient ways to streamline medical and legal sign off, budgets and operational processes. You will also be working closely with our Brand, Marketing and Product teams and influencing senior stakeholders to ensure we are providing the most useful and engaging content to each of our user segments.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing Flo’s overarching content strategy based on user research, user feedback, product analytics and market trends 
  • Partnering with Brand and Marketing teams, as well as channel owners (social, lifecycle) to develop holistic content plans that will support campaigns and other initiatives
  • Creating efficient operational processes for the production, publishing and experimentation of content and ensuring their adoption across teams
  • Working with the Content Leads for each user segment to ensure all publishing and distribution plans are timely and effective
  • Directly managing the content leadership team and putting in place processes and forums to help them develop new ideas, experiment and knowledge share
  • Forecasting, distributing and owning the content budget, ensuring there is a solid business case behind all plans
  • Ensuring content execution is of the highest standard across video, editorial and audio
  • Leading on the development of new concepts and formats, leveraging both in-house and external resources to ensure we create best-in-class work for Flo users
  • Defining success metrics for stories and rich content formats, partnering with analytics to ensure we can measure and optimise for performance 
  • Identifying opportunities for new external partnerships and manage relationships with freelancers
  • Working with other key stakeholders to evolve the brand’s tone of voice and evangelising its importance within the business
  • Creating guidelines to align our content creation and ensuring we have the right skillsets on the team

What we’re looking for: 

  • 10+ years' experience in an online publishing environment and some traditional journalism experience is preferred 
  • A passion for women’s health and lifestyle content with a point of view on what will educate and empower users
  • A global network of writers, photographers, video producers and agency contacts with whom you can collaborate to create content
  • In-app experience and knowledge of web requirements (eg, SEO)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and a strong eye for visual presentation 
  • Strong management experience and experience building content production teams for a high-growth, fast-paced organisation
  • Proven record of creating efficient and effective content strategies 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Very strong strategic and analytical acumen
