About the role

Flock Freight is looking for a Senior Product Manager who is passionate about designing experiences that customers love. The ideal candidate is adept at designing and building software products in collaboration with cross-department teams from go-to-market, commercial and operational stakeholder, design, and engineering functions. The Flock Freight platform, algorithms, and web applications are used by thousands of customers; you will be a key contributor to the product roadmap, proactively identifying new opportunities to improve our products.

Responsibilities

  • Know the Market – Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor offerings to inform product strategy and positioning.
  • Drive growth – Partner with customer teams to grow our base of Enterprise and SMB shippers via targeted acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Discover problems – Identify and deeply understand user problems through user research (interviews, surveys, observation, etc.) and analytics.
  • Validate solutions – Work with design, engineering, and stakeholders to ideate, prototype, test, and validate potential solutions. Drive alignment toward the best solution(s) that are high value to users and viable for the business.
  • Define Roadmap – Prioritize product initiatives relative to their impact and effort (ROI). Balance investments between near-term business needs and long-term product vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, operations, and customer teams to ensure successful launches and maintain/evolve product functionality over time.
  • Own Outcomes – Set and track OKRs tied to outcomes that measure the success of product initiatives. Focus on meaningful and measurable changes in user behavior that drive business value.
  • Document the Details – Develop project plans with detailed requirements, user stories, and prototypes to enable planning with engineering teams.
  • Execute Rapidly – Rapidly ship, test, and iterate on solutions that maximize impact with minimal complexity. Use an iterative and phased approach to validate learnings and de-risk initiatives while maintaining high velocity.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, particularly on the demand side
  • Strong understanding of user research methodologies, with a keen eye for great user experiences
  • Ability to collaborate with, influence, and align stakeholders across different levels of the company
  • Ability to work closely with design and engineering teams, with a solid understanding of agile development 
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute product roadmap in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience defining and tracking KPIs and using data to inform decisions
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience with B2B system integration products, API products, and EDI is a plus
  • 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in marketplace platforms or logistics
  • Bachelor’s degree (in CS, Economics, Math, or a related technical field is a plus)

The expected on-target earnings range for this position is $150,000-$185,000 per year. This range reflects typical earning potential in this role. When determining an offer, we take into account a variety of factors that are important in making compensation decisions including, but not limited, to: skill sets; experience and tenure; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is based on market data. Salary bands may, in some circumstances, be adjusted to a different geographic area depending on the candidate's position and location.
