The Accountant is responsible for managing accurate accounting and reconciliation of operational expenditure information in line with company policy and applicable accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements. This role supports the financial reporting process for accruals, bank reconciliations, OPEX accounts, and prepayments and will also assist with treasury-related tasks. The key outcome of this role is to ensure accurate, timely reporting to management with insightful variance and trend analysis to support decision-making for the business.

What you'll get the opportunity to do:

  • Support financial reporting process

    • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of all company bank accounts to ensure accuracy 
    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities, on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving any Prepare entries to expense company’s prepaids and maintain prepaid amortization schedule
    • Compile and prepare entries for monthly  accruals/reclasses to general ledger accounts, providing support that is organized, accurate, and descriptive
    • Fulfill all duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and other assigned tasks, in a timely manner to comply with the close calendar, checklists, and other due dates as assigned
  • Support employee expense and corporate credit cards process

    • Prepare weekly employee expense batches for review and reimbursement
    • Process credit card expenses and manage reports
    • Prepare employee expense and credit card journal entries to upload to Netsuite
  • Treasury

    • Prepare daily cash position reports and monitor cash balances
    • Manage ad-hoc treasury requests - i.e. bank transfers, debt rollover notices, etc.
  • Ad-hoc Special Projects & Analysis

    • Proactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve them via implementation of new tools, systems, and processes
    • Streamline corporate credit card program
    • Assist in documenting and establishing a strong controls environment through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls
    • Perform ad-hoc requests and in-depth analysis as requested


What you'll bring to the team:

  • 2+ years of accounting and/or finance experience 
  • Pursuing a professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • US GAAP knowledge is an asset
  • NetSuite experience is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
