WHAT you'll be doing:

In this key leadership role you will be responsible for all EMEA Operational Excellence programs as well as partner with US and Asia OE leadership to plan, orchestrate and execute global projects. You will lead a small but expanding team of entrepreneurial Program and Project Managers whose role it is to ensure that all operational teams within Flexport EMEA have the tools, capabilities and metrics to drive continuous improvement. And it will be your responsibility to ensure  that the European OE team fits into our global operational excellence function

You will be key to driving improvement in the way Flexport's – air, ocean, rail, and truck – fit together. You will help drive standardisation of processes and create ways to share best practices. Key to your success will be striking the right balance between the close ties with local clients and global efficiency.This role is both highly strategic and hands-on, a truly multifaceted opportunity where you will deal with a wide range of topics at a conceptual level, prioritising projects, defining the improvements and driving implementation.  An amazing opportunity to systematically work on improving Flexport's core processes - those that move our client's freight around the world. 

WHAT you'll need:

Ideally we are looking for someone with a mix of business consulting and experience working in a fast growing tech startup. However what really is essential is that you have leveraged Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement Toolkits to drive impact at an organisational level. You will have a demonstrable track record designing, developing and implementing continuous improvement roadmaps for an operating business and will be data driven. Having the ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations. You will have demonstrated proficiency in product development lifecycles and have experience translating business requirements into product roadmaps

Key to your success will be your attitude and approach.You are not directly responsible for the operation, but your tools, capabilities and metrics help Flexport teams to perform better, and by doing so serve our clients better. There is a real role for OE to make sure all the different operations teams work together seamlessly, and that we have an end-to-end process that runs smoothly. Therefore it is essential that you are an excellent communicator having the ability to work all levels driving program and project management through your team as well as able to influencing change through others.
