More about our team and company:

Who you are

Our ideal candidate is a design visionary with a managerial flair, someone who understands that the success of a product lies in the perfect blend of aesthetics, functionality, and the user's journey. Your commitment to user-centered design principles will be evident in the high-caliber visuals you produce and the guidance you offer your team. As you collaborate with engineers, product managers, and your design team, your overarching goal will be to refine and expand the Fleetio design ethos.

If you're an influential design leader and contributor who takes pride in crafting experiences that resonate with users and uplift their interactions, we would love to hear from you!

Your impact

  • Lead and guide the Product Design strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while personally contributing to pivotal design projects.
  • Supervise the design process from ideation to final execution, guaranteeing that features are launched efficiently and at the highest quality.
  • Establish and maintain robust design frameworks and guidelines, building upon and expanding the current style guide.
  • Drive user-centered design culture by setting the bar for product quality, promoting rigorous user research, feedback integration, and iterative design refinement.
  • Foster a team environment of understanding and empathy for our users, ensuring this understanding is central to all design decisions.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, presenting design strategies and decisions with clarity and conviction while fostering a two-way feedback loop.
  • Orchestrate collaborations across Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams, ensuring smooth and efficient communication and problem-solving.
  • Work hands-on with engineers, merging the manager and IC roles to oversee and sometimes contribute to the design-implementation phase. This role is a hybrid player-leader-coach where you will spend 70% of your time in IC contributing directly to a team and 30% of your time managing a team of product designers.
  • Develop the talent within the design team, mentoring junior to mid-level designers, establishing growth paths, and ensuring continuous skill enhancement.
  • Manage team dynamics, ensuring effective communication, conflict resolution and fostering a positive environment.

This is a position we consider essential to the company’s success. Be sure to mention coffee in your cover letter so we know you actually read this.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
