Sales Development Representative (SDR), Employer Partnerships


Flatiron School is an outcomes-focused immersive bootcamp offering the best in software engineering, data science, and UX/UI design education. Our Career Services team is responsible for ensuring our graduates can navigate the job market successfully. As part of that team, our SDR function creates relationships with hundreds of employers, giving them access to the best-fit graduates for their teams — in the right places, and at the right times.  

This is a great position for someone who is passionate about sales & recruiting. You’re excited to build relationships from the ground up with amazing organizations where our graduates can start contributing immediately. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the rapid growth of our organization by helping students change their lives.

The SDR will:

  • Find & qualify new employer relationships through calls, emails & in-person meetings with employers where our grads would fit well.

  • Manage the top of the sales funnel from prospecting and identifying potential leads to leading discovery conversations.

  • Understand and communicate Flatiron School's brand, program and value to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Heads of Recruiting, Heads of Design, & Heads of Data Science

  • Care deeply about graduates getting jobs and about partners being happy with their hiring partnerships with us.

  • Be agile and iterative in your approach to our employer partnerships, identifying within and across teams how to make our hiring partnerships and graduates most successful.

A successful SDR has/is:

  • Work experience. You've worked in sales, marketing or recruiting. You’ve sold before & liked it.

  • Tenaciousness. You meet the goals you set for yourself - in fact, you keep finding new ways to blow them out of the water.

  • Data orientation. You like to analyze what works and what doesn't, and you take action based upon data.

Flatiron School teaches passionate, driven people Software Engineering, Data Science & UI/UX Design. We’ve been teaching since 2012, and now we’re developing software and programs to bring our successful curriculum to more students. We are more than just a school — we are a team of mission-driven individuals trying to align education with reality.
