What is Flagstone?

Flagstone is many things. An online savings platform, reinventing how individuals, businesses, and charities manage, protect, and grow their cash. A diverse group of people, bound by a collaborative spirit, and shared purpose. And lastly, a thriving, profitable business – where smart people do their best work.

Each definition shares a common thread: our unique culture. It’s our pride and joy. And our competitive advantage.

A feel for our culture

To revolutionise the savings market, we need to be at our best. But high performance takes more than talent – it takes a culture of kindness, respect, and growth.

That’s why we’re building a diverse, inclusive community, where your voice is heard and valued. Where, with close support and room to develop, you can surpass even your own expectations. And be rewarded for it.

We may not change the world, but we can change the world of financial technology. And all it takes is a winning mix of drive, talent, and empathy. Our culture celebrates all three.

But enough about us. Let’s talk about you.

Does this sound like you?

You are passionate about supporting us in motivating and retaining top-tier talent through developing a competitive reward strategy that aligns with our unique culture and enhances the overall employee experience.

What you’ll do:

You will provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement in our total reward offering, and advise on broad based incentive design, job architecture, pay equity as well as performance management and performance related pay.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that our employees are incentivised in a meaningful way and receive a competitive package that continues to elevate us as an employer of choice. If you have a strong background in compensation and benefits management, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for creating a positive employee experience, we want to hear from you to help us on a short-term special project.

  • Conducting a comprehensive review of our current Reward strategy and offering, including compensation, benefits, long-term incentives, wellness programs and accessibility
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) within the existing total rewards framework
  • Building insights (benefit trends, comp best practices, salary bandings and market posture, exec comp packages, LTIP and equity, wellbeing and CSR programmes) and benchmark our total rewards offering against industry (FinTech) standards
  • Conducting employee surveys and interviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the motivational factors and engagement drivers of our evolving workforce
  • Reviewing our job architecture to help us create stronger links between the approach to compensation and job families, levels and grades
  • Refining pay frameworks to ensure they are competitive and equitable
  • Collaborating with People Ops and T&D to ensure that reward initiatives are integrated with our performance management processes
  • Developing recommendations for optimising our Total Reward strategy, linking compensation and recognition to performance management, to drive a high-performance culture and enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention
  • Providing a clear roadmap for the phased implementation of the new reward strategy, including timelines, responsibilities, costings and resource requirements where applicable
  • Developing an effective communication strategy to educate employees about their compensation, benefits and recognition to ensure the total rewards programme is clearly understood and valued by leaders, managers and colleagues
  • Designing a robust framework for measuring the effectiveness of the new reward strategy, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of the enhanced total rewards offering

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience as a subject matter expert in total reward strategy design and implementation, including the structuring of both equity and cash-based incentive plans
  • Experience of operating in a senior role in a high growth UK-based scaling FinTech business, with in-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits best practices and market trends
  • A proven track record of aligning compensation practices with business goals and shareholder interests, with a strong understanding of the relationship between compensation and the motivation and retention of a diverse group of employees
  • Proficiency in job evaluation and experience with and best practice usage of (And access to) compensation insights platforms such as Radford, Pave and Paylocity
  • Strong grasp of financial principles and analytical techniques, with the ability to interpret data, conduct benchmarking analyses, and derive actionable insights to inform reward strategy decisions
  • A nuanced understanding of organisational culture and the ability to tailor reward strategies to align with both this and high performance
  • A strategic thinker capable of envisioning long-term organisational goals and designing reward systems that support sustainable growth and success.

All are welcome.

At Flagstone, we’re assembling a diverse team that defies our industry’s norms. Think this role could suit you? We encourage you to apply, no matter your background.
