JOB SUMMARY
Flagship Pioneering is looking for a Payroll Manager to administer the activities relating to the company payroll processing, benefits processing including developing, implementing, and monitoring (e.g., performing internal audit and control procedures to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate). The individual will be the company’s subject matter expert with all semi-monthly payrolls, and 401(k) administration.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
PAYROLL:
- Process payrolls for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing, administering regulatory requirements, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
- Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with HRBP team to improve payroll and 401(k) administration processes.
- Process employee onboarding tasks.
- Maintain employee records in payroll/401(k) systems.
- Produces scheduled and ad-hoc ADP WFN custom reports pertaining to payroll and human resources requirements.
BENEFITS:

- Coordinates and conducts the new hire employee onboarding process and presents benefit orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
- Assists with administrative leave of absences.
- Assists with annual open enrollment period. This includes preparation (or revision) and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees.
- Reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and assists with quarterly and year end audits for year-end processing (payroll, 401k, benefits).
Here’s what you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Payroll/Benefits experience preferred.
- Experience with ADP, WFN Payroll/Benefit system preferred or other outsourcing payroll systems
- Experience with employee multi state tax set up and employee state requirements
- Extremely detail oriented with a proven track record for accuracy.
- 5+ years of experience in a diverse payroll position
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Certified Payroll Professional is a plus
- Certified Equity Professional is a plus
- Strong capabilities to multi-task
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior leaders and partners
