Flagship Labs 72 (FL72) is seeking to hire a leader to lead our Translational Sciences efforts. This role requires depth and imagination to pioneer a radical & novel therapeutic platform. As a platform company, we’re simultaneously approaching many diseases and indication types to help us understand what’s achievable, what’s possible, and to convert them into practice quickly.
You’ll be pioneering with us all along the way, so we’re looking for someone who has mastered the essentials: how to leverage existing animal models of disease, what should be considered when establishing new disease models, and how to drive parallel programs and triangulate evidence. These will require you to work closely with other world class scientists and experts driven by impact to flesh out our platform-level clinical, regulatory, and positioning strategies.
To achieve these, you will convert our platform scientific ambition into the run & management of disease models (both in-house and at CROs), manage vivarium activities, creating IACUC protocols, and so on. You’ll work closely with computational colleagues to analyze and interpret diverse biological data sets related to PK/PD, as well as the inference & establishment of new biomarkers, from immunological to expression dynamics.
Our ideal candidate has experience in multiple areas of immunology, metabolism, cardiovascular, chronic & infectious disease, vaccinology, oncology, as well as statistical or machine learning methods to prosecute questions therein. These experiences may have come from an unusual background or unconventional career path – we are open minded about the origin of excellence.
S/he has a PhD, MD, DVM or equivalent that has been put to use in understanding how human performance is predicted by animal and in vitro evidence
S/he has worked in either small molecule, biologics, or vaccines – and deeply understands the qualitative differences of evidence required to progress in those domains
S/he has demonstrated excellence in pharmaceutical, biotech, or nutritional industries
S/he is adept at managing multiple projects and balancing broad set of ongoing priorities and activities
S/he is conversant with statistical evidence in translational science (e.g. the Prentice criterion)
S/he ideally marries their deep understanding of translational challenges with computational/mathematical modeling capability
