Position Summary:

The Senior Scientist, AAV Gene Therapy will be responsible for leading efforts to design and evaluate next-generation gene therapies to support in vivo and ex vivo programs for proof-of-concept studies. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. This individual will join a dynamic, rapidly growing, and highly collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to understand and apply relevant scientific literature to the design of optimal AAV vectors
  • Design experiments for evaluating AAV vectors to support the application of our genome engineering platform
  • Lead efforts on experiment planning, data analysis, and interpretation
  • Productively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in biological sciences or related field with 5+ years of industry or academic experience is required.
  • Strong experience in AAV constructs design, building, and application
  • Expertise with DNA sequence design and manipulation tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work as part of a team
  • Must be flexible and willing to work across multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Familiar with mammalian transcriptional regulatory components
  • Strong background in animal models of liver disease
  • Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior reports
  • Familiar with genome engineering technologies
  • Strong publication record
