Position Summary:

FL69 is seeking a Scientist to lead its computational proteomics efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of proteomics and have extensive experience analyzing tandem mass spectrometry data from diverse sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive forward our discovery efforts with large-scale proteogenomics analysis of tandem mass spec data
  • Draw on knowledge of biology and drug discovery to interpret proteomics results, integrate them with other data sources, and communicate results to an interdisciplinary team
  • Ensure computational work is documented and reproducible
  • Work in a highly dynamic startup environment with an interdisciplinary team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or MS with multiple years industry experience or equivalent in computational biology, proteomics, genomics or other relevant field
  • Experience implementing pipelines for the analysis of MS/MS data
  • Experience with large-scale analyses of MS/MS data
  • Experience creating and searching custom MS/MS peptide databases
  • Solid understanding of the technical and statistical underpinnings of spectral search engines
  • Experience analyzing DDA and DIA mass spectrometry datasets
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python or R
  • Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled, diverse teams
  • Demonstrated industry experience or academic achievement, as evidenced by publications in high impact journals, conference proceedings, or widely used codebase
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with proteogenomics
  • Experience with MS-based approaches to query protein-protein interactions
  • Familiarity with version control and a commitment to reproducible computational research
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R
  • Experience with cloud computing
