Position Summary:

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist with extensive experience and knowledge in biologics analytics and characterization. The candidate will be working closely with the founding team at Flagship and will be responsible for optimizing, executing, and reporting on experimental protocols. This position will require ongoing contribution to the vision and strategy of this exciting new company. The candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be comfortable working in and contributing to a very dynamic and cross-functional team environment. The level of this role will commensurate with the education and experience of the identified candidate. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy, planning, execution and interpretation of biologics characterization and analytics
  • Integrate closely with immunology team to test and interpret biologics function
  • Report results to scientific team and executive management
  • Contribute to development of IP portfolio
  • Work effectively with a cross-functional team to contribute to the vision, strategy, and tactics of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. scientist with 3+ years of industry or post-doctoral experience in chemical engineering, biochemistry or related disciplines
  • Extensive hands-on experience with in vitro assays such as SPR, ELISAs, or cell binding assays for characterization of biologics
  • Experience with characterization of high affinity biologics interactions
  • Experience with binding kinetics and epitope binning/mapping of biologics (e.g. Biacore or Octet)
  • Experience with protein expression, production and purification
  • Prior involvement in immunological research (e.g. collaborations) is a huge plus
  • Motivated and curious, experienced working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and technical setting.
