Position Summary

The primary mission for the IT Services Lead, a new role at Flagship, is to oversee the delivery of IT services and capabilities to Flagship early-stage companies based in our new, state of the art facility at One Kendall Square (OKS).  You will be our in-house expert on our IT support services, end user computing devices (Mac & PC), and SAAS productivity tools while working closely with our managed services providers to oversee the quality of the services they deliver to our end users. 

The IT Services Lead reports to the Flagship Vice President of Information Technology.   

In addition to the OKS site responsibilities, you will also leverage your extensive experience in developing and delivering materials to support the adoption and use of IT products and services across all Flagship early stage (“Enterprise”) companies; ensuring these products and services are applied and used by our end users to improve the financial success, launch velocity, and productivity of Flagship’s early stage portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

For the One Kendall Square facility:

  • Oversee the delivery of IT services, provided by our 3rd party managed services providers; acting as the first level escalation point for services issues
  • Develop relationships with site stakeholders and end users
  • As needed, develop and maintain relationships with our managed services providers, software providers, and hardware vendors
  • Plan and coordinate the IT aspects of Flagship company moves, into and out of the OKS site
  • Plan and conduct IT on-boarding and training for new employees
  • Establish on-going approaches to understand company/user IT requirements and needs, communicate best practices, monitor performance of services, and communicate updates and changes to the IT platform

For the Flagship Enterprise companies:

  • Become an expert in the use of our core IT applications and tools
  • Develop and deliver (in-person and digital) materials and content supporting the adoption and use of our IT systems
  • Plan and conduct IT on-boarding and training for new employees
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders (as needed) at Flagship Pioneering and across other the Flagship Enterprise companies to better understand the user community’s technical and adoption needs


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in technical customer support, end-user training, and employee enablement
  • Strong customer service skills, teaching ability and a knack for problem solving
  • Experience developing and delivering technology documentation and training materials
  • Proven relationship building and vendor management experiences
  • Experience managing small/medium technology projects; experience managing IT aspects of facility moves and buildouts preferred
  • Experience using and supporting common SAAS applications; e.g. Microsoft O365, Slack, Zoom, Confluence, Egnyte, etc.
  • Experience supporting common end user computing devices; e.g. PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad
  • Friendly, communicative, collaborative approach and style
