Job Purpose:

The Finance Director has the overall responsibility for the financial accounting functions, including adherence to company accounting policies and procedures, and the fulfillment of all internal and external financial and operational reporting requirements.

Professional & Technical Experience:

  • Accounting/finance degree with CPA preferred

  • 6-10 years’ experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably within an agency

    environment

  • Experience with Maconomy advantageous

  • Ability to build a finance team and encourage and facilitate a positive working environment

  • Strong desire to work in a creative and energetic environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to manage details with confidence and with a high level of trust

  • Ability to travel

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing, assisting and directing the preparation of reports summarizing and forecasting company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on the past, present and expected operations

  • Commercial partner to the Managing Director and business leaders

  • Lead the the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly budget updates

  • Client contract negation and management of compliance to client contract terms

  • Participation in, and remediation of, all SOX and Internal audits

  • Participation in, and remediation of, all SOX and Internal audits

  • Client contract negation and management of compliance to client contract terms

  • Management of the finance team

  • Reviewing and approving payments to vendors and partners

  • Reviewing and approving the extension of credit to clients for our services

  • Reviewing and assisting in the preparation of invoices to clients for our services

  • Preparing reports required by the regulatory and local tax agencies

  • Ensuring compliance with company policy and legal regulation, including Sarbanes-Oxley

    operational requirements

  • Maintaining the accounting and financial requirements of the business while balancing the

    changing needs of a fast-paced, creative, client facing business Key Success Factors:

  • Working alongside the MD, improving efficiencies and impacting on US-wide business performance

  • Implementation of new working practices to underpin CFO’s drive to improve systems and efficiencies across the global network

  • Strength of working relationships – internally and within WPP
