Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and innovative Full-Stack Designer to join our team. This role will be pivotal in shaping the visual and interactive elements of the FirstPrinciples Foundation's digital presence, including our website, research hub, marketing materials, and other design needs. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with a strong technical background, capable of developing everything from marketing templates to complex, interactive web elements that explain advanced physics concepts.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Branding:

• Design templates and visual assets for our website, email marketing campaigns, social media, and other digital marketing efforts.
• Ensure all designs align with FirstPrinciples’ brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across all visual communications and platforms.
• Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling visual content that drives engagement and amplifies the foundation’s messaging.
• Design the layout of white papers, reports, one-pagers, and other print or digital materials that clearly communicate our initiatives.

Web Design & Development:

• Take ownership of the ongoing design and development of the FirstPrinciples website, constantly updating and improving its functionality and visual appeal.
• Collaborate with web developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs, ensuring that they are responsive and optimized for performance.
• Lead the design and development of custom web elements that visually and interactively explain complex physics concepts on the FirstPrinciples website.
• Build and integrate interactive features that will serve as the foundation for the First Principles Education Hub, showcasing various educational content in an engaging way.

UI/UX Design:

• Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for the FirstPrinciples Research Hub, focusing on enhancing user experience for researchers and stakeholders.
• Create and refine UI/UX elements for analytics data visualizations, ensuring they are both functional and visually appealing.
• Conduct user research and testing to continuously improve the user experience on all digital platforms.

Interactive & Technical Design:

• Develop interactive elements and infographics that effectively communicate complex scientific ideas to a broad audience, making theoretical physics accessible and engaging.
• Create animations, simulations, and other multimedia content that enhances the educational value of the FirstPrinciples digital platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies to continuously innovate and improve the foundation’s digital presence.

Collaboration & Project Management:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet project goals and timelines.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all design work meets project requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with the future FirstPrinciples Studio on various design projects, ensuring alignment and consistency across all visual content.

Qualifications:
Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Web Development, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in UI/UX design, web development, or digital marketing are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a full-stack design role, with a strong portfolio showcasing web design, UI/UX projects, interactive digital content, and digital materials.
• Proven experience in designing for scientific, educational, or complex technical content is highly desirable.

Skills:

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Figma, Sketch, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with web development frameworks.
• Expertise in UI/UX design principles and best practices, with a keen eye for detail and a user-centered approach.
• Ability to create complex interactive elements and multimedia content, including animations and simulations.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
