Financial Accountant

Department: Finance

Location: Hong Kong

Responsible To: Assistant Finance Manager

Brief summary of role: 

To assist and support the direct manager in managing the financial and accounting activities and overseeing the compliance for FT's legal entities in Singapore and Hong Kong and support the regional initiatives and projects

In this role you’ll: 

- Handle full set of account to ensure timely completion of all month-end and year end closing activities

- Analyse and correct discrepancies to ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger and compliance on an ongoing basis

- Provide insightful and analytical analysis on financial statements

- Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts and ensure completeness and clear off the outstanding in a timely manner

- Manage payroll activities and collaborate with HR and the global mobility team to ensure accurate payroll processing and posting

- Prepare forecast and budget for assigned Cost Centers, understanding the variances and ensure the accuracy of submission

- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement enhancement to strengthen financial controls

- Handle Transfer pricing, GST/Corporate tax filing and statutory audit to ensure full compliance of statutory requirements

- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of records and efficient internal controls are in place, ensure alignment with FT global policy

- Collaborate with Accounting Services team based in Manila to ensure issues are resolved timely

- Support the Travel Management Company and Corporate Credit Cards process

- Collaborate with multiple functions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

- Handle ad hoc projects or other functions as required

You'll bring to the role....

- Degree holder in Accounting or related disciplines

- Member of HKICPA or equivalent qualification in professional institutions

- Experienced in accounting/auditing

- Intermediate to advanced level in MS Office such as Words and Excel

- Detail-minded with strong sense of responsibility, willingness to learn and strike for improvement

- Organisational, problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential

- Work both independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment

- Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment

- Good command of English and Chinese languages

- Effective communication skills and who can build and maintain effective working relationships within the team and across the businesses

- Experience in Oracle is a plus
