Role / Position Overview

As the Social Media Manager,  you’ll lead and manage a team of Social Media Marketing Specialists in the day-to-day planning, execution, and management of social media campaigns across all events and channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta, YouTube, Tiktok). You’ll coordinate and quality-check the team to ensure consistency across all campaign plans and drive performance across our range of KPIs.

You will develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic. You’ll also have ownership of a key set of ‘top-tier’ events and be responsible for their planning, execution, and management across all channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta, Youtube, TikTok). You’ll be accountable for copywriting and bespoke content creation  - from ideation to project team pitches,  to execution (once approved) - as well as analysis and reporting. You’ll be accountable for keeping current with FT Live social media and FT Audience Engagement management standards and guidelines, trends, policies, and best practices; sharing results with key stakeholders. You will work alongside the Specialists to propose and develop A/B testing initiatives and embrace new technologies to advance digital transformation.

Role Responsibility:

  • Report directly to the Interim Head of Digital & Performance Marketing. 
  • Support the Social Media Specialists in the day-to-day planning, execution and management of social media campaigns across all events (including TNW) and channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Coordinate and quality check the team to ensure consistency across all campaign plans and drive performance across our range of KPIs.
  • Ownership of a key set of ‘top-tier’ events and be responsible for their planning, execution, and management across all channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta, Youtube, TikTok).
  • Accountable for copywriting and bespoke content creation  - from ideation to project team pitches,  to execution - as well as analysis and reporting. 
  • Responsible for keeping current with FT Live social media management standards and guidelines, trends, policies, and best practices; sharing with key stakeholders. 
  • Regular analysis and reporting on campaign performance.
  • Stakeholder management – internal and external – informing on current campaign performance as well as future opportunities
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure plans are achievable and on track
  • Identify new areas for growth
  • Work alongside the Social Media Marketing Specialists to guide A/B testing initiatives. 

Required Experience:

  • A passion for news and media and an affinity for the FT’s values of integrity, ambition, curiosity, trust, inclusion, and subscriber focus.
  • Prior experience in social media (B2B) experience (either client or agency experience) in planning, executing, and managing campaigns across LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Profound ability to strategise and develop plans to achieve long-term goals aligned with our core objectives, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Proven people management experience. 
  • Strong project management with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects across different team members simultaneously ensuring that deadlines on each are met.
  • Proficient in copywriting and demonstrates innovative creative skills to produce and deliver content against our KPIs.
  • Analytical capability with experience in using a range of analytics tools, including social listening tools.
  • A ‘test and learn’ approach, comfortable with initiative and the ability to propose new ideas and solutions.
  • Proactive attitude and thrives off working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • A confident communicator and natural collaborator, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
