The Role

  • Ability to use hypothesis-driven problem-solving to develop an approach to solve strategic problems for media companies
  • To help struggling media organizations at a time of reinvention. You’ll work with them to develop digital strategies that will help transform their business, with implications for the wider media industry.
  •  Ability to quickly absorb information from interviews, data, reports and other information sources, to produce succinct evaluation of a situation 
  • Quantitative skills, such as the ability to build Excel models, research output, draw key insights from data or visualize data as compelling charts in PowerPoint 
  • Maintaining and directing strong client relationships and being available to respond to ad hoc requests 
  • Project management skills, delegating work as appropriate to other team members, internal FT experts and external freelance experts 
  • Client communication skills, using PowerPoint slides to efficiently produce output

About You

  • Fluency in spoken and written Korean a must
  • Prior experience at a strategy/management consulting firm in a client-facing role
  • Analytical Rigour: Strong quantitative skills, such as the ability to build financial models, draw key insights from complex data or visualise data as compelling charts
  • Relationship building & Commercial aptitude: Maintaining and developing strong client relationships and being available to respond to ad hoc requests. Managing stakeholder relationships with experts across FT Group.
  • Strategic leadership: Drive to build the strategy of a growing business from the ground up. A self-starter is a strategic thinker but also has a strong bias to action to deliver on our goals.
  • People Management: Project management skills, delegating work as appropriate to more junior team members, internal FT experts and external freelance experts. Mentoring, coaching and managing more junior members of the team.
  • Consultative toolkit: Ability to use hypothesis-driven problem-solving to develop solutions for the most complex strategic problems. Consulting communication skills, using slides and digital tools to efficiently produce output.
  • Thought expertise and a curious mind: A thought expert, demands distinctive knowledge and solutions. Tests and pushes team’s content and thinking to best-in-class solutions.
