Job Purpose

MandateWire is a subscription business covering the investment activities of institutional investors in Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The senior analysis reporter is an exciting role for someone who wants to develop a range of skills while working with a global team. The successful candidate will report into the global editor of MandateWire Analysis and write articles for a weekly publishing schedule.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Write feature articles on institutional investment trends across Europe on a weekly basis

  • Write and produce data-driven articles based on proprietary research, including producing eye-catching visual stories using AI and data visualisation tools

  • Stay on top of and report on major pension fund and institutional investment trends across Europe by interviewing senior executives in different countries and translating relevant documents to English 

  • Assist in the commissioning of articles from other contributors, including freelance writers, investment consultants and in-house reporters

  • Assist with editorial staff training and development

  • Deputise the global editor in their absence

  • Actively participate in the quarterly and annual production of MandateWire’s industry trends reports

  • Liaise with marketing and product teams to promote and enhance the product on social media

  • Generate insightful conference coverage and represent the brand at industry events

  • Moderate and chair in-house events, including webinars and podcasts

  • Contribute new ideas and assist with the expansion of the product.

 

Qualifications / Capabilities / Skills / Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of financial terminology and the institutional investment industry;

  • Experience interviewing senior executives;

  • Experience writing for a financial news service;

  • Superb organisational skills to manage time effectively, scheduling calls, inputting data and meeting weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines;

  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data and identify relevant material;

  • Computer literate. Able to adapt to various content management systems and AI tools

Desirable

  • Knowledge of a second European language 

  • Editing skills
