The Role / Position Overview

The Proposition Strategy Manager is a key role within the recently formed Price & Propositions team at the FT. Reporting to the Head of Pricing & Proposition, the Proposition Strategy Manager will be responsible for developing the B2C proposition portfolio strategy across our consumer subscription products and project managing new value driving initiatives. The role will work closely with the audience and product marketing teams to shape and evolve our digital portfolio for sustainable revenue growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and develop commercial initiatives that evolve our digital and print subscription propositions for the Consumer Revenue Group
  • Own and develop our value proposition communication guidelines, based on market research and audience insight 
  • Develop our international proposition strategy with product marketing teams based on audience insights
  • Develop the offer management guidelines to ensure we have the right propositions on offer at the right times to customers throughout their customer lifecycle
  • Work with our internal analytics teams to develop capabilities to understand proposition performance and opportunities across regions, customer segment, product type etc.
  • Act as an internal knowledge specialist and contact to provide subject matter expertise where needed across commercial functions
  • Collaborate with financial business partners to model proposals from the business, providing robust analysis to evaluate the financial impact and make a commercial recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with marketing colleagues to ensure a streamlined experience throughout reader lifecycle and career stage

Required Skills / Experience 

  • Strong commercial excellence experience developed in commercial strategy, value creation, or strategy consultant role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of portfolio and packaging design theory with experience in practical application to drive commercial performance
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, ability to break down complex problems, define an approach to solving them
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with experience working with stakeholders across commercial and financial functions
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously

 

Preferable Skills / Experience 

  • Experience with large scale market research projects, including conjoint methodologies
