Role Description

The Research and Business Development Summer Analyst internship is an 8-week program that begins in June 2025. Summer Analysts within Research and Business Development will learn a significant amount about the investment banking process as well as the "in and outs" of the merger and the acquisition and private capital raising processes. Summer Analysts will perform a wide array of strategic and operational activities in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. As a member of our team, you will conduct due diligence on potential investment banking opportunities including financial, valuation, and market sizing analyses. Furthermore, you will leverage extensive market data to first identify and then publish insights on the key trends and topics influencing the FinTech ecosystem. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for our Summer Analysts to hone and develop their financial modeling, data analytics, business strategy, and interpersonal skills, while also interfacing with the most prominent CEOs, Founders, and Investors in FinTech. What are the unique opportunities of this role? 

This is an unparalleled opportunity to work at an elite investment bank – and the only one exclusively dedicated to FinTech. From day one you will be on the front lines meeting with C-Suite level professionals from the top FinTech and Crypto companies as you assess product-market-fit, perform in-depth financial due-diligence, and conduct broader market research.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform due-diligence on high-growth FinTech companies including conducting various valuation analyses (e.g. DCFs, public comparables, precedent transactions) for companies across FinTech verticals and business models
  • Meet with FinTech founders, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and traditional finance executives in order to understand strategy, product roadmaps, acquisition interests, and capital raising / liquidity needs
  • Leverage FT Partners’ proprietary database and alternative data sources to identify emerging trends in FinTech
  • Research significant M&A and private capital raising transactions and publish high-quality / high-visibility reports
  • Develop high-impact, market facing deliverables including sell-side pitches, views on market trends, and analyses of investment / acquisition activity across FinTech
  • Assist senior bankers in developing and implementing business development strategies and facilitating dialogue with CEO/CFO/Board level contacts

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Master students with a graduation date of December 2025 - June 2026
  • All degrees considered, Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3.40 cumulative GPA
  • Strong interest in financial analysis, research, and FinTech
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a drive for excellence
  • Team player, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial
  • Strong data management and research skills
  • Maturity and poise to work directly with C-Suite level professionals
  • High attention to detail

The annual salary for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $85,000/year. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
