Summary:

Final Strike Games is looking for a talented Senior Systems Designer that will help to craft a journey that rewards players time spent with meaningful experiences. We will look to you to innovate and shape unique systems for player and gear progression. You will form the player experience across a landscape of social, economic and matchmaking systems.

The ideal senior candidate will be strong on creativity and problem solving. Leadership, communication, and collaboration will be the keys to success in this role, as well as a passion for making truly memorable games.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute across all stages of development: from verbal ideas to paper sketches to feature documentation and in-game implementation
  • Rapidly iterate on playable prototypes
  • Write & maintain design documentation and processes for owned features & work
  • Work closely with engineering partners to maintain design goals
  • Implement assets in-engine with UE4 and manage files through source control
  • Work with the stakeholders to understand project goals, priorities, and vision
  • Drive project goals, priorities, and vision across interdisciplinary teams to deliver high quality features from start to finish
  • Balance and adjust experiences to ensure product’s critical and commercial success
  • Support & mentor members of the design team with feedback, engine assistance, and professional growth 
  • Participate in daily playtests to collect feedback and create action items for owned feature teams as well as identifying and fixing design bugs
  • Collaborate with the Production team to maintain schedule and priorities of the design teams deliverables and bug fixes


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of game design experience
  • Designed, developed, and shipped 2+ titles on PC or Console
  • Proficient in the Adobe Suite and other relevant tools
  • Unreal Engine 4 knowledge and experience
  • Experience developing core mechanics for a variety of game experiences
  • Take feedback and direction well and is willing to learn and teach others
  • The ability to sell, present, and talk through your design thinking, game mechanics and overall design goals to all levels of management
  • Able to develop and champion vision for a game system from concept to completion
  • Strong ability to quickly analyze and adapt designs to continuously improve them
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and development methodologies
  • Deep knowledge of the current “state of the art” for systems designs
