Robotics Integration Engineer
Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for a Robotics Integration Engineer to lead system-level integration, behavior-based validation, and full robot commissioning. You will play a key role in characterizing performance, debugging cross-disciplinary issues, and ensuring each robot is ready for deployment. This role bridges behavior development, test execution, and root cause analysis — ideal for someone excited about hands-on robotics engineering and making humanoids work reliably in the real world.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute robot behaviors to validate motion, sensing, and control at the system level.
- Own the end-of-line (EOL) bring-up and validation process for new robots, ensuring they meet quality and reliability standards.
- Perform hands-on debugging of mechanical, electrical, and software integration issues.
- Design and run validation plans to stress the full robot system across real-world use cases.
- Create tools, metrics, and dashboards to track robot fleet performance over time.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and build teams to resolve integration challenges and improve test coverage.
- Contribute to the automation of repetitive testing, data collection, and diagnostics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience working on robotic systems or electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for scripting behaviors and debugging.
- Strong system-level thinking with hands-on experience debugging full robotic stacks.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and standard diagnostic tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, log analyzers).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced R&D and production environment.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with humanoid or legged robots.
- Understanding of control systems, kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning.
- Exposure to ROS2 or similar autonomy stacks.
- Background in robotics validation for production or high-reliability environments.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $230,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
