Impact In This Role

At Fictiv, we’re building a company that is developing an operating system for sourcing custom mechanical parts. We already enjoy manufacturing and delivering highly complex, high-quality parts for our Fortune 500 customers who are building the future with products like autonomous electric vehicles, surgical systems, and industrial robots. As we scale our business, we are looking to expand our growth within México.

Your role as the Logistics Operator will be to coordinate the daily shipping operations for our Manufacturing Partners located in México to our customers. At Fictiv, we believe in creating the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and your dedication to operational excellence will help us make that happen.

In this role, you’ll use your excellent attention to detail to schedule and create daily shipments to meet our customer’s delivery timeline expectations. Throughout the day, you’ll keep a pulse on the status of each of our highest priority orders to ensure shipments are on track and you’ll use your agility and excellent communication skills to quickly coordinate new delivery plans with our carriers and with our sales team when our manufacturer’s timelines change due to manufacturing complications.

You will report to the Regional Logistics Lead.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating domestic shipments: Prepare shipping documentation and ensure that our products are sent to our customers on time.
  • Coordinating export shipments to the US: As necessary, support the coordination of import/export of shipments from Mexico to our customers in the United States.
  • Order Tracking: Maintain visibility of the status of our highest priority orders and determine risk mitigation strategies to maximize the chance of their being on time.
  • Support customs clearance and troubleshoot customs hold for our inbound international shipments. Establish communication with Ficitv’s carriers and freight forwarders to ensure all necessary shipping documents are on hand to support import and export customs clearance.
  • File claims and troubleshoot issues with carriers for damaged and lost products to ensure resolutions and reimbursements. You will also be responsible for supporting issues of routing, direct ship pickups, and carrier scheduling. When necessary, coordinate pickups, using courier services from our manufacturing partners to our customers.
  • Develop and maintain key metrics to keep track of performance to KPIs for Mexico-based logistics, collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless and efficient integration of logistics processes with end-to-end company workflows.
  • Continuous Improvement and Training:
  • Identifying areas of improvement within North America logistics operations, suggest solutions to management, and, when applicable, own the successful completion of those continuous improvement exercises.

Desired Traits

  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Customs or related fields preferred.
  • Over 2-3 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility for logistics operations.
  • Understanding the US import and customs practices is a must.
  • Understanding of export practices from Mexico is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of logistics processes and customer service.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
  • You are meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work under stress and lead under difficult situations.
