About the Role:
Fetch is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Stock Admin and Payroll to join our finance team. This role will be critical in ensuring our payroll operations are efficient, compliant, and scalable as we continue to grow. In this role, you’ll have 1 direct report.
Locations:
Candidates can work fully remotely, but will ideally be based in the following locations for occasional in-person collaboration; Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, San Francisco, CA, Boston, MA, New York, NY, Madison WI, Birmingham, AL
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Oversee Payroll Operations: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for over 900 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and international regulations.
- Stock Administration: Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's equity programs, including stock grants, options, and RSUs, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- International Payroll Management: Handle payroll operations for international employees, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and manage the expansion of payroll systems to new entities.
- Develop Processes: Design and implement efficient payroll and stock administration policies and procedures, focusing on automation, accuracy, and scalability.
- Employee Support: Maintain accurate records of equity transactions and provide employee support and education regarding equity compensation.
- Strategic Planning: Provide strategic direction, aligning compensation strategies with business objectives and supporting the company’s growth. Contribute to the development of payroll and stock administration strategies that support the company's growth and international expansion goals.
- Reporting: Prepare and present equity compensation and payroll reports to senior management, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll and stock administration processes with overall company operations.
- Non-Exempt and Exempt Payroll: Handle payroll for both non-exempt and exempt employees, ensuring proper classification and adherence to labor laws and company policies.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all payroll and stock administration activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and address payroll and equity-related inquiries and discrepancies. Prepare and review reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of payroll professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Payroll System Migration: Lead payroll processing system migrations or implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations, including automation and technology solutions.
Skills we believe you need for this position:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in payroll management within the tech industry, with experience managing payroll for a company with over 500 employees.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing a team, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of payroll software and systems, with a strong preference for experience with UKG, ADP, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Equity Management Software: Proficiency with equity management software, such as Carta.
- Public and Pre-IPO Experience: Experience with public and pre-IPO companies is preferred, demonstrating the ability to navigate the complexities of different organizational stages.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPP or similar payroll certification is a plus.
Compensation:
- At Fetch, we offer competitive compensation packages to the exceptional folks we hire. The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. We also offer all employees equity in Fetch, so that everyone can benefit from Fetch’s growth.
