This initiative also illustrates ENGIE Africa’s strong belief in the huge potential of these activities and has built a leading and unique position in the A2E African market and is willingness to input all the necessary resources to make these activities business scalable and grow and deliver on its promises both in terms of revenues and social impact. 

Job Purpose/Mission  

Reporting to the A2E Head of HR; Human Resources Officer (HRO) is responsible for the management of the Human Resources function for central team members based in Europe, the US and China. The HRO develops, implements, and aligns HR programs with business while supporting day to day team HR needs.  


Compensation, Benefits, and Total Rewards and Employee Engagement: 

  • Responsible for full implementation of Total Rewards & benefits in line with the business line for employees based in Germany and the US 

  • Manage the establishment and approval of compensation & benefits benchmarking markets for the European, Chinese and US markets.  

  • Provide oversight for the establishment of salary ranges for each grade 

  • Direct initiatives that lead to the health, performance and overall satisfaction of staff within your oversight 

  • Ensure employee safety, welfare, wellness and health. 

Employee Relations: 

  • Primarily point person for employee relations ensuring compliance with all local labor laws.  

  • Liase with HR consultants and lawyers in Germany, China and the US to ensure all policies and procedures comply with local labor laws.  

  • Provide staff support to recruitment process and participates in selection as appropriate. 

  • Contextualize retention strategy and ensures execution. 

  • Contextualize diversity strategy and ensures execution. 

Talent Management & Leadership Development: 

  • Implement and facilitate the talent management process  

  • Lead & provide support to replicate integrated talent management program. 

  • Be intentional in identifying and developing leadership skills in Leaders and Managers. 

  • Cascade succession planning for key positions  

  • In consultation with functional/ departmental heads, implement coaching and mentoring programs. 

  • Coordinate learning & development initiatives 

  • Cascade change initiatives towards the fulfillment of ongoing cohesion and effectiveness of operations and functions. 

Performance Management and HR Compliance: 

  • Facilitate initiatives towards integration and delivery of organization performance, health and team cohesion for team members within your oversight group 

  • Ensure effective and efficient performance management and Individual Development plans. 

  • Review, analyze & submit annual end of appraisal statistics. 

  • Update policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values. 

  • Provide support to the teams at all levels to develop appropriate performance management culture. 

  • Provide and monitor HR operating budget and monthly expenses against the budget for US, China and Europe 

Administration & Security: 

  • Provide strategic leadership to Administration function in Germany while mitigating operational risks and increasing overall security by establishing systems and mechanisms to ensure effectiveness. 

  • Oversee Payroll Administration for the teams in Europe, China and the US 

Knowledge and skills 

  • 2-3 years of direct experience with HR administration in Germany or the US 

  • Position requires cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity. 


  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in any related course 


  • English 

  • German is a plus
