We are searching for a Buyer to join our team in Corona, CA. In the role of Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing assigned materials at the lowest cost for the quantity, quality, and delivery required subject to review and guidance of the Purchasing Supervisor. Produce adherence schedules, shortage reports and monitor assigned product lines to achieve Marketing schedule requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Purchase requirements for assigned materials from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages
- Negotiate prices and provide competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest cost for specific materials
- Analyze and evaluate quotations submitted by potential suppliers to ensure the quality, quantity, delivery, terms and cost are acceptable.
- Expedite solution of any problems that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity, and cost of purchased commodities
- Negotiate settlements with suppliers on any problems that have caused company losses (poor quality, delivery delays, etc.)
- Recommend cost savings improvements through changes of purchasing systems, sources, quality.
- Meet with existing suppliers in order to evaluate their services and products to seek out cost reductions, quality improvement, or new products
- Communicate problem areas or market conditions that could have a significant effect on production schedules to Purchasing Supervisor
- Perform MPS maintenance for assigned product line
- Prepare production schedules and monitor monthly adherence
- Release work orders to the factory to meet production schedule objectives
- Create, distribute and monitor shortage report for assigned product line
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business management preferred
- 3+ years procurement experience
- Must be familiar with the supplier’s product and production processes, supplier order handling, shipping capabilities, and personnel
- Business Knowledge, Skill Requirements, and Desired Attributes
- Ability to make decisions and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- MS Office and SAP experience in a multi-production environment
- Effective skills financial, market and vendor analysis
- APICS certification a plus

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $72,000 to $85,000 per year.
