About this role

Faire’s Risk team is seeking a highly strategic, operational, and experienced senior leader to develop, manage, and scale our risk team, products, and processes. As a leader of the Risk team at Faire, you will be instrumental in building the discipline at a high-growth company. You will provide insights that inform risk management strategies and drive growth.

What you’ll do 

  • Manage and develop a team
  • Employ a data-driven approach to identifying opportunity areas, testing hypotheses, making recommendations, and executing on initiatives that enhance our risk operations and strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as Data Science, Engineering, and Product to enhance our risk strategy, processes, and product offerings
  • Develop frameworks, policies and procedures to enhance and scale our risk operations
  • Determine and report on key performance metrics

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience across operational roles with experience in fraud or credit roles at a high-growth tech company
  • Previous experience directly managing and hiring teams
  • Strong foundational knowledge of finance, credit, underwriting, payments
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and financial evaluation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance Risk mitigation alongside a positive customer experience; demonstrated ability in conflict-resolution and risk assessment
  • Ability to work with and influence others in a closely collaborative team environment
  • Process improvement mindset and ability to identify and implement operational improvements
  • Strong business acumen and ability to serve as a critical thought partner across key initiatives 
  • Passionate, relentless resourcefulness and the ability to thrive at a fast-paced startup -- you’re willing to do what needs to be done for the success of your team and you are comfortable with change

Salary Range

San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $126,500 - $158,000 per year. 

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Roles that list only a country in the location are eligible for fully remote work in that country or in- office work at a Faire office in that country, provided employees are located in the registered country/province/state. Roles with only a city location are eligible for in-office or hybrid office work in that city.
