About this role

We’re looking for a Marketplace Strategy & Operations Lead to drive critical initiatives across Marketplace Ops functions - including Brand Operations, Marketplace Quality and Trust & Safety. As a member of the Marketplace Ops leadership team, you will drive strategic, analytical and operational projects and implement processes and programs with the goal of unlocking how quickly brands can join Faire and ultimately be successful on the platform. You will work closely with Marketplace Ops team leads and other cross-functional leaders to ensure we are building a scalable, high quality marketplace for our brands and retailers, alike. 

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work as a high-impact individual contributor within a functional area and have the opportunity to lead projects from strategy to execution to ongoing implementation and iteration. 

What you’ll do 

  • Be a core member of the Marketplace Operations leadership team, helping to build and scale the function 
  • Design and build foundations for a variety of “0-1” work across the Marketplace Ops function, such as piloting new operating models for our brand onboarding experience, or developing strategic frameworks for how we make policies at Faire.
  • Drive strategic, analytical and operational projects and be responsible for the execution, monitoring & ongoing implementation of scalable operational programs and processes 
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and strategy with key stakeholders to ensure success of team and joint company goals 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of experience in operational roles at high-growth companies (ideally marketplace businesses), with some background in consulting, finance, business operations or strategy preferred but not required
  • Experience in fast-paced, ambiguous environments driving projects from strategy through implementation; happy to roll up your sleeves to get any job done 
  • Highly analytical and data driven -- can drive complex analyses and translate into key actionable insights; can manage projects to KPIs and metrics 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with data science, product, engineering, sales, brand management, and business operations teams to achieve business objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator 
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure and deliver results 
  • Ability to use data to inform key decision making and strategic direction; sound business judgment to run process improvement tests 
  • Ability to balance competing priorities with proven record of delivering results
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in dual-sided marketplace and/or high-growth startups 
  • Experience managing business process outsourcing (BPO) relationships

Salary Range

California / New York: the pay range for this role is $147,000 - $202,000 per year. 

Colorado / Washington / New Jersey: the pay range for this role is $132,000 - $181,500 per year.

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Roles with only a city location are eligible for in-office or hybrid office work in that city.
