FabFitFun is looking for an Art Director to join our Creative Team! The role will report into our Creative Director, and be based in the Greater Los Angeles area. A relevant portfolio of work required that demonstrates creative thinking, design skills, and attention to detail.

What You’ll Do:

Campaign Execution and Creative Development

  • Execute creative campaigns based on established briefs, collaborating with senior creatives and cross-functional teams to ensure the vision is consistently executed across all deliverables (social, web, print).
  • Leverage data insights (including A/B testing) to make informed visual adjustments that enhance campaign effectiveness and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Producers, and Site Merchandising to execute the shoot's vision, ensuring it aligns with the intended context across all channels. 
  • Ensure that creative strategies are properly executed and support both brand messaging and business goals.
  • Partner with copywriters to advance ideas, develop campaigns and deliver both a unique visual look and a strong “voice” to each and every execution

On-Set Support and Asset Management

  • Lead on-set creative direction, providing feedback on live image selection, lighting, props, visual direction, and composition to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, and HMU artists to execute the creative brief, making real-time adjustments as needed to capture the intended look and feel of the shoot.
  • Oversee direction on day-to-day photo retouching and color correction process for all photo assets, ensuring high-quality, on-brand visuals are produced.
  • Manage the categorization of all photo assets in digital archives, ensuring accessibility and consistency across campaigns.
  • Act as the point of contact for reviewing post-production work, working closely with senior creatives for final approvals on imagery.
  • Proficient in CaptureOne, providing live image selection and color correction on set as required.  

Design and Brand Consistency

  • Hands on design ability, able to jump in and assist with day to day design projects as needed. Understanding of basic graphic design principals 
  • Update and maintain eCommerce photo guidelines for both on-figure and product photography, ensuring all images meet performance and creative standards for digital platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CaptureOne, Figma) and trends, applying this expertise to ensure technical proficiency and innovation in design work.
  • Enforce brand guidelines and help establish art department standards for production, productivity, quality, and client service

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of art direction and advertising campaign development preferably in the retail, fashion lifestyle or beauty industries with a focus on ecom and digitally native marketing.
  • Strong on-set art direction skills with experience working with out-of-house teams and partners to generate on-brand, compelling assets
  • Proficiency in design and photography software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and Figma
  • Experience in product styling, with the ability to arrange and style products on set to create visually appealing, on-brand compositions for photoshoots and digital campaigns.
  • Takes direction and constructive critiques well while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction when needed
  • Strong visual design, story-telling, and editing skills with the ability to articulate and communicate concepts and ideas independently through comps, mockups and decks
  • Must be a hands on designer, self-starter and innovative thinker with the ability to jump in when needed to get projects completed on time. 
  • Ability to work on set for extended periods, including standing for long durations and assisting with equipment or props as needed for production.
  • Occasional travel to production locations as required to oversee photoshoots and provide on-site creative direction.

The expected annual salary for this position is $85,000-$90,000. The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
