What you’ll do

The Team Coach is responsible for ensuring that their team lives and breathes agile values and principles, and follows the processes and practices that their team agreed to use.
 

Responsibilities

  • Clear obstacles
  • Establish an environment where the team can be effective
  • Address team dynamics
  • Help the team understand agile theory, practices and values, and also understand the best way to apply agile methodologies
  • Act on behalf of the team in department meetings 

 

Service to the Product Owner (or Product Manager or Team Lead)

  • Ensure that goals, scope and product domain are understood by everyone on the team
  • Apply techniques for effective product backlog management
  • Help the team understand the need for clear and concise product backlog items
  • Understand product planning in an empirical environment
  • Facilitate team meetings and events as requested or needed

 

Service to the team

  • Teach the team self-organization and cross-functionality
  • Support the team in resolving conflict
  • Ensure that teamwork is happening
  • Build the team, create trust and psychological safety
  • Support knowledge exchange
 

Service to the organization

  • Support the organization in its organizational transformation
  • Support agile implementations within the organization
  • Collaborate with other team coaches to increase the effectiveness of agile methodologies within the organization
 

What we expect

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience within social sciences, humanities, psychology, management and/or systems theory
  • Knowledge of agile methods, retrospectives, continuous improvement and coaching
  • Agile knowledge/experience in introducing agile values, concepts and processes
  • Preferably, experience with software development 
  • Experience with people and team dynamics
  • Experience with meeting facilitation and moderation
  • Strong people person and communicator, empathic and a great listener
  • Not afraid to speak up in groups; able to keep meeting agenda on track
  • You’re inquisitive by nature and able to understand the true reason behind an issue
