Extend is modernizing the $100 billion-per-year protection plan industry using cutting-edge technology and top-notch customer service. 

Our technology-forward omnichannel and API-first solution allows any merchant to offer protection plans, both online and in store, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters. More recently, Extend also launched a shipping protection solution, covering consumers in the case of lost, damaged or stolen packages. This is further expanding the company’s addressable market and value creation for merchants.

We are a venture-backed startup in downtown San Francisco led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits. Extend simplifies the technology stack for the product and shipping protection industries.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead technical discussions and provide industry best practices for merchant partners that include leading brands and household names in the retail, manufacturing, and consumer products spaces
  • Design solutions that elegantly integrate Extend with merchants’ existing technical infrastructure including eCommerce, POS, OMS, and ERP systems
  • Support merchant teams during each stage of the onboarding process, including business requirements gathering and product fit-gap analysis
  • Perform software demonstrations and technology presentations
  • Work directly with the product engineering and revenue leadership to design best-in-class solutions for unique technical challenges
  • Be a driver of innovation within the team, the company, and with our merchant partners, by looking for better ways to do the work we do, automate our integrations, and build tools
  • Contribute to enablement efforts to ensure internal team growth of domain expertise

What we are looking for: 

  • 7+ years of experience in technical solution architecting or technical solution engineering role
  • 7+ years of customer-facing experience in a technology, consulting, or financial services company
  • Strong experience working with Mid-Market and Enterprise merchants
  • Strong experience in developing and demonstrating solution capabilities and value
  • Experience working with eCommerce and ERP platforms
  • Experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and RESTful Integrations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions to partners
  • Ability to perform in a high-energy environment with dynamic job responsibilities and priorities
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions to merchants
  • Ability to take ownership of work products from end-to-end
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience integrating common eCommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Salesforce CommerceCloud, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.)
  • Experience with back-office OMS and ERP systems
  • Familiarity with general accounting practices and business processes
  • Familiarity with Typescript, React and Node.js
  • Experience implementing or integrating with POS systems

Estimated Pay Range: $165,000 - $185,000 per year salaried*

* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
