About the Role

The Restaurant Operations Manager is responsible for Restaurant Operations, Restaurant Sales and Account Management. This is a full-time position based in Chicago, working directly with the Chicago General Manager. 

Responsibilities

Account & Relationship Management

  • Manage 30+ restaurant relationships on day to day basis
  • Onboard and train new restaurant partners
  • Contribute records and notes to a team-wide customer relationship management database
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact and resource for our restaurant partners
  • Monitor feedback channels and reach out to restaurants to resolve issues
  • Identify trends and opportunities; collaborate with our Product Management team to define product offerings and enhancements for restaurants  

Sales 

  • Ability to work with the General Manager and independently in restaurant outreach process
  • Research, compile and sort qualified restaurant leads
  • Cold call potential leads, following up regularly
  • Manage and document the sales process
  • Schedule and attend pitch meetings, following up as needed to secure restaurants participation

Reservation Operations

  • Manage reservation operations and work closely with the General Manager to ensure successful matches between restaurants and diners
  • Work closely with Marketing/Community team to respond to all tickets and incoming requests until diner satisfaction is at its best
  • Work with Marketing/Community team to provide and discuss restaurant feedback

About You

The right candidate loves process and has excellent organizational skills. You are detail oriented and an excellent communicator. You are a good manager, capable of working well with a team to understand client issues and develop appropriate responses/solutions. You’re capable of quickly building rapport and establishing trust. You display a willingness to make decisions in a timely fashion, exhibiting sound and accurate judgment, with an ability to support and explain reasoning for those decisions. You are capable of adjusting the team’s account management and operations tactics to achieve desired results, then sharing those results with the organization.

You will also have the following:

  • 2-3+ years of relevant account management, sales, and/or operational experience
  • Proven ability to work across many departments to solve problems and achieve results
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining business/customer relationships
  • Analytical skills to make and support business decisions (i.e., you are comfortable with spreadsheets)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience using sales and customer service tools like Salesforce and Zendesk, preferred
  • Experience using other restaurant tech apps
  • Comfort working in an unstructured and entrepreneurial environment
  • College degree
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in hospitality with a deep empathy and understanding for the restaurant industry
