Job Function:

The Resourcing Manager position requires the ability to oversee and manage resourcing needs on all contracted and identified projects within the agency, as well as overall employee utilization against agency defined targets. They will be responsible for working alongside cross-functional agency teams to identify resources to assign to projects based on project scope, project budget, project timing, and available bandwidth of employees. This person will provide consistent and timely management of agency forecasting platforms and systems, maintaining an aggregate of all approved project hours for the purposes of being able to identify agency-wide resource allocations for all incoming projects. This role is an internal operational role that plays an integral role in overall agency profitability.

The Resourcing Manager will be expected to oversee a multitude of tasks; including, but not limited to:

  • Managing employee utilization and bandwidth across the agency, identifying and plotting internal resources against current and upcoming projects.
  • Working alongside cross-functional teams to ensure that proposed resource and time allocations match approved agency fees on projects.
  • Tracking actual hours usage against approved hours projections on all projects, working with project leads to identify and address any discrepancies and/or shifts in personnel.
  • Communicating to management any present and future resource gaps based on consistent project forecasting exercises conducted with department heads.
  • Leading the identification, outreach, and negotiation of freelance resources against approved budgets, maintaining a roster of freelancers to be utilized at any given time.
  • Reviewing, synthesizing, and presenting employee utilization data to management on a monthly basis, identifying areas of concern and potential solutions.
  • Working alongside department heads to discuss utilization areas of concern and to develop plans that address and remedy those concerns.
  • Partnering with trusted staffing firm(s) as needed when freelance/full time needs arise that cannot be solved internally.
  • Possessing the ability to read in between lines to predict and react to a client’s needs, while consistently and proactively developing solutions to budget and resource obstacles with client goals in mind.
  • Building and maintaining industry knowledge, relationships, and resources that can be leveraged to help drive the agency and its operational processes forward.
  • Developing a well-versed knowledge of each client’s business and their ways of working, including billing models, individual key issues, and competitive situation.
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and collaboration.
  • Keeping a pulse on trends in advertising, sport, music, entertainment, lifestyle, art, culture, entrepreneurship, and technology.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of managing resources and/or operations within an agency environment.
  • Project management and some recruiting experience is ideal, with a background in production a string plus
  • Solid budgeting experience against projects and a willingness to help integrated teams cost out SOWs for work.
  • Strong quantitative skills and an ability to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Acute attention to detail and thoroughness with all assigned tasks.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with account, creative, strategy, and production teams.
  • Creative problem-solver and highly conceptual abstract visual thinker.
  • Confident self-motivator who can manage multiple tasks at any given time; proactive and willing to initiate action.
  • Solutions-oriented thinker with a high-level ability to solve problems.
  • Outstanding relationship skills and a team-oriented, collaborative approach to work.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Highly competent in Google Suite, Slack, Box, Asana, and other project management platforms.
  • Passion and love for sport, entertainment, tech, culture, and lifestyle.

The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
