Job Summary:

Excelity is seeking a Automated Functional Test Engineer for a project responsible for building the next generation Mission Information Systems for an exciting Government customer with a very critical mission. The candidate will work with the engineering team and customer to ensure successful development of high profile, complex, technical deliverables that are core to the continued success of our award-winning projects. The Automated Functional Test Engineer will have experience in planning, designing, and develop automation test scripts and take ownership of the end-to-end testing delivery.  Working in an Agile environment, facilitate high quality software deliveries applying business and functional knowledge including testing standards, guidelines, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, modify, and test the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run.
  • Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals.
  • May assist software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions.
  • Designing & Implementing Test Automation Strategy
  • May develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.
  • Develop functional testing scenarios as well as detailed functional test cases.
  • Manage project deadline, time and schedule in a fast-paced federal environment.
  • Review and generate complex test plans, generate test case data, build procedures and testing scripts based upon functional specifications.
  • Execute test cases, coordinate and execute tests, log and validate defects, debug and document.
  • Assist test lead/manager to define and refine functional testing approaches, tools, automation and documentation.
  • Interact with Federal and contractor functional leads to clarify requirements and scenarios.
  • Assist the Federal and contractor resources to conduct User Acceptance Testing.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in creating, modifying, and testing the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run.
  • Ability to code in Java, JavaScript or other Object-Oriented programming languages
  • Ability to write test cases, test reports.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage project deadlines.
  • Must currently possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in automation scripting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Familiar with Git, Javascript (with a focus on Node.js), Typescript, PuTTY, API Testing
