Everlaw is seeking a Senior User Researcher to join our dynamic product team. In this role, you'll set your own bar and lead investigations into new strategic initiatives, uncovering valuable insights about our users and the legal space. Everlaw is expanding into greenfield product areas, and your research will play a key part in shaping our product strategy. You'll play a crucial role in elevating the entire product development team's understanding of our users, helping us build a product that empowers legal teams, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to discover truth and promote justice.

This is a full-time, exempt position located onsite in Oakland, California with a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home Tu/Fri.

In your role, you'll...
- Become product certified! You will learn the ins and outs of the Everlaw platform through a series of training modules
- Lead the product team’s investigation into multiple new and emerging product areas
- Plan and conduct qualitative user research to better inform long-term product vision and improve existing experiences
- Synthesize and communicate compelling insights to the team to help drive innovative solutions and increase understanding and empathy for users
- Create and maintain foundational research artifacts to keep the team informed about who our users are, and how they think about their work
- Shape and define the research discipline to make it a core pillar of product development by documenting robust processes and creating toolkits that elevate and scale the product development teams’ research capabilities
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, designers, and product leads to determine when, how, and what to measure to inform success of the product and individual features
About you
- You have at least 5 years of experience in conducting mixed-method research, using data to draw insights and hypotheses, and incorporating research into the product development lifecycle.
- You’re a great storyteller, able to distill complex findings into recommendations appropriate for both senior leaders as well as designers, product leads, and engineers.
- You have experience with a variety of research goals and methods, and are capable of conducting research from small-scale usability tests to large, greenfield investigations.
- You are a great storyteller communicating insights and complex concepts simply.
- You have an empathetic and analytical mindset that enables you to be more observant, and ask better questions to discover deeper insights.
- You have an appreciation for quantitative and qualitative data and how they complement each other.

- The expected salary range for this role is between $135,000 - $175,000. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate’s experience and skills. The base pay range is subject to change in the future.
