WHO WE ARE

Evergreen Nephrology partners with nephrologists across the country to provide individuals living with kidney disease a value-based, person-centered, holistic, and comprehensive approach to kidney care. We are committed to improving their quality of life.

Our collaboration with nephrologists focuses on serving the needs of patients across the full care spectrum. We do this by tailoring care for each patient based on their unique needs, ranging from delivery of care and education to coordinating transportation to dialysis and other social determinants of health that can delay patient care and treatment.

YOUR ROLE

As a Associate with Evergreen Nephrology, you will collaborate with the SVP of Strategy and other leaders to create clear, data-driven approaches to our most pressing and complex opportunities. The work ranges from rigorous strategy analyses to roll-up-your-sleeves ownership of key initiatives for business success. This is a high-visibility role that will be instrumental in shaping the direction of a rapidly scaling startup.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

You will - 

  • Support the development of Evergreen’s long-term strategy
    • Proactively identify opportunities and risks facing the business
    • Own the work with a high degree of autonomy, starting with individual workstreams and progressing to greater project-level responsibility
    • Earn the role of trusted advisor to leaders across Evergreen
  • Structure problems…
    • Create clarity by applying careful logic and appropriate frameworks
    • Discover central issues by asking questions to go ever deeper into problems
    • Outline potential causes and available options for addressing issues
    • Develop informed hypotheses to guide problem solving
  • …and solve them, collaboratively
    • Conduct research to develop an informed perspective on issues, drivers, and market trends
    • Analyze data and develop robust models
    • Apply business judgment to assess strategic tradeoffs
    • Engage stakeholders for functional expertise and support – mindful of how your work depends on and impacts that of others
    • Develop a clear point of view, including awareness of its limits and conditions under which you would change it
  • Communicate your findings
    • Provide updates on project status and current insights at an appropriate frequency
    • Take an “answer first” approach to your recommendations
    • Tell the story effectively in high-quality slides tailored to your audience
    • Present live and virtually to a variety of stakeholders
  • Drive new initiatives
    • Develop actionable work plans that articulate tasks, owners, status, and other items necessary to keep projects moving forward
    • Identify stakeholders to involve at varying levels (through RACI analysis, for example)
    • Initiate and facilitate effective meetings
    • Flexibly take on new responsibilities until long-term owners can be identified
  • Learn and grow

    • Constantly sharpen your skills with a view to taking on ever more project leadership
    • Mentor more junior members on the team

YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • Navigating ambiguity – Proactive in creating structure to problems, comfortable working both autonomously and in collaboration across a dynamic organization
  • Communication – Thoughtful with words, mindful of audience, an eye for visualizing abstract concepts and complex data
  • Technical competencies – You will work a great deal in PowerPoint and Excel, so proficiency is needed. More important, though, are the enabling skills of communication, numeracy, and capacity to learn and utilize whatever tool you need to tackle a problem
  • Integrating relevant learnings from past experience – Prior experiences could include:
    • Directly related roles in consulting, corporate strategy, startups
    • Similar roles in investment banking, corporate development, strategic finance, operations, product development, policy
    • Experience with healthcare providers and payors, especially value-based models, helpful but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 2 years experience in high impact consulting, or analyst work in finance and M&A strategy, with a strong preference for experience in healthcare.
  • Financial modeling skills and experience.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work with high degree of autonomy keeping projects on track.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and with leaders at all levels.
